Christians: Become involved in both the sacred and secular!

Ever heard the old song, "Brighten the Corner Where You Are?"
Time for Christians to step up to the plate and become voices of hope--influencers--in the spaces God has placed us.

Representatives from One Way Press recently attended a City Commission meeting and was delighted to participate in prayer with a local pastor as a part of the meeting proceedings. Following up on the City Commissioners meeting, we decided to check out the County Commissioners Meeting.

It was a very different story on the county level. Rather than opening with Christian prayer, the County Commissioners opened their meeting with a secular humanist invocation, led by a chapter leader from the Freedom FROM Religion Foundation

Does that alarm you? It should.

It is long past time for Christians to become involved in their local political agendas and to vote knowledgeably for officials at every level of our local, state, ad national governments. Check your city's website for posted city commission meetings--County Commission websites as well.

ONE WAY PRESS  is committed to promoting biblical values in every area of life--both the sacred and the secular.

When the Internet Goes Down...What Then?

Is the arrest and prosecution of pastors and church leaders in this present crisis a wake-up call to believers to start getting our study and discipleship materials in tangible print form—a form that can be used, re-used, distributed, and cannot be banned or otherwise disappeared from online digital services?

Consider this, Amazon.com, the world’s largest distributor of digital and print books has been suppressing search results for Christian books for some time now. They have created advertising rules that make it more difficult (thankfully not impossible yet) for Christian [non-fiction] book sellers to place ads on their site.

How long before such suppression becomes even more blatant and wide-spread?

Is it time to begin weening ourselves from dependence on digital resources that could disappear from the internet overnight?

Brick and mortar churches were on lock-down, but home churches continued to meet.

With one pastor arrested in Tampa, FL and a pastor in Baton Rouge, LA having a petition (signed by thousands!) demanding his arrest for continuing to hold church meetings, this pandemic has revealed how fragile religious freedom really is in the United States.
There will no doubt be lawsuits and court-cases going to Appellate Courts, State Supreme Courts, and beyond. But regardless, the landscape for American Christians and the free practice of our religion has changed...forever.
   But what else is new?
The early Church met in homes from the beginning, and because of religious persecution, were forced to make the choice to obey a higher mandate from a higher authority than that of earthly governments.
   They began meeting in secret.
Many Christians around the globe still do so.
The practice of the Christian faith includes "not forsaking" the gathering of ourselves together, "even the more so as you see the day approaching." That means Christians must find ways of gathering together most especially in troubled times
Many Believers apply this scriptural admonition by holding home meetings, which may not fit the mold for traditional brick and mortar church organizations, but align perfectly with Jesus' model when he said "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am also."
Currently, a gathering of two or three is legal. Isn't it time for God's people (not just pastors) to start thinking out-of-the-box, and begin applying the unfiltered Word of God to the practice of our faith?

Home-Church Solution to Big Government

Practice of the Christian faith has been legally under attack for some time now, but the corona-virus pandemic has increased visibility of those like Virginia Governor Northam, who actively seek to undermine the religious freedom of  American Christians.
Readers are encouraged to do their own research. The Southern Poverty Law Center Extremist Files are a good place to start. Several Christian groups are listed there, and it is our opinion that at least two conservative/Christian groups [possibly more] on the list are slanderously libeled as extremist [hate] groups, when they are not.
Is it time for mainstream church leaders and pastors to start taking the idea of home church groups more seriously? Is it time to mentor home-group leaders and encourage congregations to start forming small groups to meet in homes?
Is it time for  Christians who are benched at their churches due to religious bureaucracy [but are called and qualified to lead] to step up, step out, and begin holding home-meetings on their own?
OneWayPress and HungryHeartsMinistries.faith are here to support those who step out in faith [to walk in the gifts and callings of God] with both print and online resources for study and leadership.

New Release! THE TREE: Trick Trap... Or Something Else?

Why was the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil placed in the Garden of Eden to begin with if God knew it was going to destroy the innocent pair and the pristine world he had created?

Was God trying to trick or trap the unsuspecting humans by giving them a test he knew they would not pass?
It really seems unfair, doesn't it?

But wait, is there another reason the tree could have been in The Garden? A reason that had nothing to do with testing, or tricking, or trapping the first couple?

We propose that there is.

Empowering Christians to End Marital Abuse and Domestic Violence

Through the One Way Press Dorcas Network, we empower the Christian community to respond compassionately, knowledgeably, and biblically to the crime and  sin of domestic violence.

Marital abuse and violence is linked to the tradition of male leadership still taught so aggressively within churches today. Also known as male headship/complementarian teaching, it is spiritually and psychologically harmful to both men and women, and at times physically and fatally harmful to women. In light of that, we [unapologetically] do not separate the crime from the paradigm. To that effect, we stand with churches and individuals in educating and empowering professing Christians to eliminate marital abuse and domestic violence from among our ranks.

Christian Recovery

Hungry Hearts Ministry's position on recovery, is that everyone's Christian walk and spiritual growth entails some degree of putting off the old and putting on the new.

Our Seven Steps to Biblical Recovery, come straight out of scripture and involve the exact same EXTREME DISCIPLESHIP steps for every person who comes to Christ, regardless of whether or not they come with a need for inner healing or freedom from addiction.

That being said, One Way Press is pleased to present our upcoming release of EXTREME DISCIPLESHIP, which will be useful for groups and individuals. It is a targeted, intentional, and most of all biblical, approach to new beginnings for everyone who lays their all at Jesus' feet.

We can count on God to keep his Word when we have a willingness to do our part in "Adding" to our Faith.

"That if THESE THINGS be in you and abound they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

What an amazing promise!

Grow your ministry by winning souls, making disciples, and developing leaders. Our books, work-books, and group-study hand outs can help you do that.
